Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients/Bulk Drugs

Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (Also API's)/ Bulk Drugs are biological active ingredients used to manufacture finished pharmaceutical products and intended to be used for pharmacological activity.

Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients or Bulk Drug includes any pharmaceutical, chemical, biological or plant product including its salts, esters, isomers, analogues and derivatives, conforming to standards specified in the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and which is used as such or as an ingredient in any formulation.

Some example of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients are Paracetamol Powder, Diclofenac powder etc.
